When was the PropNex Foundation established?
Established in 2025, the PropNex Foundation was launched, witnessed by the President of the Republic of Singapore, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, with an initial endowment of $10 million - with a long-term commitment to grow the fund to $25 million over the next decade.
What initiatives does the PropNex Foundation undertake?
Currently, the PropNex Foundation's flagship initiative is the PropNex Education Awards, which provide bursaries to support students from underprivileged backgrounds in continuing their education from primary school through tertiary studies.
Looking ahead, the Foundation is committed to expanding its initiatives to support more communities and address other areas of need, reflecting our long-term mission to uplift lives and create meaningful opportunities for those who need a helping hand.
What are the PropNex Education Awards?
The Awards provide financial support to students from families whose Gross Monthly Household Income (GHI) does not exceed $7,500 or Per Capita Income (PCI) does not exceed $2,000.
Who is eligible to apply?
Students from families meeting the income criteria are eligible if they are enrolled in schools registered under the Ministry of Education (MOE), including Primary, Secondary, Junior Colleges, Polytechnics, Autonomous Universities, and Special Education (SPED) schools.
The Awards currently focus on MOE-registered schools, so students attending other types of schools, such as Madrasahs will not be eligible to apply for this award.
Are undergraduate and postgraduate university students eligible?
Only undergraduate students at local autonomous universities are eligible. Postgraduate courses are not included.
What award tiers are available?
There are four tiers:
- Primary / Secondary: $1,000
- Junior Colleges / ITE / Millennia Institute: $2,000
- Polytechnics: $3,000
- Autonomous Universities (NUS, NTU, SMU, SIT, SUTD, SUSS): $4,000
How and when can I apply?
Applications have to be submitted online through the PropNex Foundation page. The application period is typically announced annually around March and closes in mid-May.
Can an application be submitted by a parent or guardian?
Ideally, the application should be submitted by the student themselves. However, if the application is too young, the parent/guardian can assist with the application.
Can I amend my application after submission?
Changes cannot be made directly online after submission. Please email to eduawards@propnex.com with supporting documents along with the applicant’s full name and NRIC number, and our team will assist you.
What documents do I need to prepare?
Applicants should prepare:
- NRIC / Birth Certificate for all family members in same residential address
- Latest 3 months' payslips for employed household members
- Supporting documents for other sources of income (e.g., rental agreements)
- Latest Examination Result Slip
- CPF Contribution Statements for last 12 months for all family members
- Bank Statement show the account holder's name, bank name and account number
Can students who already received another bursary or scholarship apply?
Yes, you may apply. Priority may be given to students who have not received other assistance.
Is there a limit on the number of children per household who can apply?
No. Each eligible child can submit a separate application.
What happens if an application is submitted after the deadline?
Late applications cannot be accepted. Applicants must apply within the announced period.
How is selection determined?
Selection is merit-based, considering household income and supporting documents, with each application reviewed individually.
How will I know the outcome of my application?
Successful applicants will be notified via email by the PropNex Foundation team. If additional information is required, we will contact you directly.
I've just completed my final year of Polytechnic and am now applying for University enrollment, am I still eligible?
As you are currently not enrolled into a University, you will not be eligible for the PropNex Education Awards.
I have just started JC/Polytechnics/University and have not taken exams yet, am I still eligible?
Yes, you are eligible for the PropNex Education Awards. Please submit your student pass or proof of enrollment for verification during the application process.
I'm currently studying in Primary/Secondary school, but do not have my exam results yet, am I still eligible?
Yes, you may still apply. For Primary/Secondary levels, no supporting documents are required for submission.
Are there any restrictions on how the award can be used?
No. The award is given as cash, and recipients are free to use it as needed.
How will I be receiving the award?
You would have to attend the PropNex Education Awards Ceremony to receive the award.
